Etiquette. Learn how not to be a pest.

Glowsticking is a new dance form. However, understand that it does not currently hold as much "respect" in terms of the modern awareness that older dance forms such as popping or bboying does. In order to get respect for yourself and others that dance with glowstick, please be curteous:

Do not give "light-shows" if people do not ask for it. If you want to give someone a light show, ask them first. Some people resent being associated with drugs.

If you want to glowstick in a circle, make sure they tolerate or welcome glowsticking. Many dancers do not want to see glowstickers. Glowstick at a proper place at a proper time. If you are good, then people will come to see YOU.

If you do strings, or poi, WATCH WHERE YOU BUST. There is nothing worse than a careless stringer who intentionally harm people in order to make room (You will make people hate you). If the room is crowded, shorten your strings or find a stringing circle.

Be respectful of other glowstickers. There are so few of us it's important to teach.

Do not battle. In my point of view, battling is always hostile, otherwise it would just be a session. Other people maintain that there can be "friendly" battling. In any case introduce yourself and smile first. Some people will not want to learn. Just let them be. Let your dancing convey your message.

If someone drops their glowsticks, pick them up if you are able.

Smile! You ARE dancing for fun right?
