Simple guide to convert Garrity Sticks/Happy Camper Sticks (often found at Wal-Mart) into more durable LEDsticks.

Alright guys I have been messin around with these walmart sticks again tryin to come up with a good solid set thats easy to make, bright and will last. Here is a basic way I've been using to increase the durability of the sticks quite a bit. If you bend the LED stick back and forth with a little pressure at the bond point where the tube meets the light it will allow you to pop the tube off. Then if you drill out the bottom part of a regular stick you can squeeze in the LED light. I also like to use a little liquid nail to keep it from flyin out. By having the majority of the weight at the far end of the stick it allows the momentum of it to carry it though turns easier and slower that normal sticks too. Another thing I do is shave off the little clip thing on the side of the stick to prevent it from tangling up any strings.

Now Im not saying these sticks are indestuctable by any means but these definitly outlast the normal sticks and if you use the green sticks to make the set the light will actually blue and have a green area also where the tube and light bond. If the sticks do end up breaking you can use some force to pop off the end that you put the batteries in and from there you can see what has busted and repair it. I like to hardwire the light on so that the only way for it to turn off is to unscrew the end, then there is very little chance of it breaking again. Anyways if anyone tries this let me know how you like it cause its like my new favorite method to make practice sticks. They usually last about a week or so and stay pretty bright so its worth spending a couple dollars on to make. and then even if they do break you can save all the LEDs and parts to use for other custom sticks!

Someone tell me how I can improve these without weighting them because I prefer the weight as it is...

P.s.- Some of these sticks are practically broken when you take them out of the package I now realize while others are much stronger so have fun chosing some strong ones :)
