I wrote a program to make it easier to post events on GSC. It doesn't make it that much easier, but it eliminates the hassle of having to copy / paste the event format and then replace / edit all the fields.

USING THE PROGRAM:

Using this program is fairly self explanatory, just fill in the info boxes and use the yellow buttons at the bottom to generate title, sub-title, and body once you've got them all filled in. It automatically copies the generated text to the clipboard so all you have to do is paste each of the 3 sets of formatted text in a new thread once you've clicked their designated yellow buttons. In addition, version 3.0 has generating buttons for calendar event title, calendar event body link, and the link line that goes in the regional information threads.

This program is designed to stay on top of all other windows to make it easier to browse for info and put it straight into the info boxes. If you want to move it around you can click / drag any area of the program aside from the info boxes. If you don't want it to stay on top of the other windows just un-check the box next to the word "Float".

The program also has a venue address book where you can store all the basic info for previously posted venues for future use, eliminating the need to dig up addresses, website links and open/close times.

If you have any questions or need any help make sure to click the blue question mark button to bring up the help topics.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

VB6 Support Files:
For those of you who have not used any of my programs before, it's written in VB6 and you might need the runtime files for that language. If you try to start the program and it tells you a file is missing, either do a google search for the missing filename (which will be very easy to find) or download the VB6 Runtime Files from microsoft.com. The files it needs need to go in your system folder, which is located in "c:/windows/system." If you're running windows vista you'll need to log into your admin account to gain access to that folder.

Non-Windows Operating Systems:
This program is designed for windows. If you're running a mac it will not work for you, unless you have a windows emulator. (Or try some of the options from this link.)

Questions / Concerns / Suggestions / Bug Reporting:
As with all of my programs, this program does only what it says it does. There are no hidden processes running in the background to be concerned about. It was designed for GSC staff use due to the large amount of events we post, but supporters are welcome to use it as well.

If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or find any bugs please contact me either by pm here on the boards, or on aim, username InfusedEMP.
