I suck. Don't worry about it!
The only claim I get to make is that I have progressively stopped hurting myself or breaking my sticks after 4-5 years.

dude man, i clock myself in the face every day with sticks or poi. it happens. you just need to practice so you can build muscle memory, eventually the moves become second nature to you.

When I first started, I hit myself every once in a while. Practice helps.

I hit myself like once every week. Also, ive seen some of the most dedicated members here do the same thing. The more you practice, the less your likely to hit yourself. Also, I go to the dollarstore all the time, look for color bright brand. They dont break easily.
