I just wanted to see, to all those who meditate, what their opinion is and their techniques used in meditation and even type of meditation.

The best meditation and most sucessfull for myself in kundalini energy meditation also called light body.

In order for my meditation to be sucessfull the key aspects are the aroma, the enviorment, the tempature, and the lighting.

    so anyone?

my meditation is not science based, i just close my eyes for 20 min, and try to take everysingle voice inside my head a part, just like sleeping, and then just focusing on the point of meditation (what is your reason to meditate), the temp, aroma and enviroment are pluses but if i need it, ill do it anywhere!!

No idea what the name or style is, but I start off by working on breathing to slow it down as much as possible and as relaxed as possible. Then I start getting each limb of my body to relax followed by my core. Then depending on my mood, I either let my mind wander until it doesn't wander anymore or I focus on the blackness (I meditate in silence and the dark).

I need ambience and as close to quiet as I can get.

So, dark room, goa trance in the back ground (depends on the mood) and some yoga to get it all started. I ground my energy and focus on cleansing my chakras and I just lose myself for about a half and hour.

I find I'm more refreshed if I meditate in the bath tub...warm water is the best.

Clears my head. Unfortunately due to not always having an extra 30 minutes, I can't always meditate, but its always beneficial.

When I meditate I like to use a combination of methods. I typically have very ambient music on and try to remove any other source of sound. Then sit cross legged in a comfortable place and commence with the slow breathing technique and clear my mind. Then I use the "ball of light/energy" method to bring myself into full meditation. Basically I start by imagining pulling energy in through my toes, and imagine it as a focused ball of light. Then I let it slowly move up my feet into my legs, up my torso, down my arms, up my neck, and into my head. At this point so long as my head is kept clear I can reach full meditation. I've also worked with the "OHM" technique monks use. This works much better I've found in group meditation though. Basically you constantly let air out of the deepest part of your chest. Your throat does no real work in this, the sound comes from your chest. The deep resounding bass of the "OHM" sound, especially with many people doing it in unison, can bring about complete meditation. The sound of the "OHM" effectively blocks out all other thought.

I do not know if I truly "meditate"...I use breathing exercises to slow my breathing/heart rate down, close my eyes almost half way, sit somewhere comfortable, and focus on my breathing. I don't do this every day...only when I feel stressed.

Find a place with warm sunlight.
I lay on my back, knees towards the celing.
Hands flat on the floor or on my stomach.
Take deep breaths and hold them a few seconds...

....I don't know the rest because I usually fall asleep.

When I was back home, my favorite place to meditate was on a cliff overlooking a stream and a lightly wooded area, usually in the early afternoon, facing west, so the sun was coming down through the trees onto my faces in dappled shadow, and with a slight wind, just enough to make the leaves rustle around me. Behind me was a cemetery. I would sit back against this one tree that held my body perfectly, and lean my head back against it and close my eyes. I would visualize each of my best friends faces in turn, letting each fade into the next, until I felt sufficiently calm and content. Then I would simply let my mind wander around to different subjects, and release each through the top of my head until my mind was empty and happy. Just going through all of that could take a couple of hours, easy, on some days.

If I felt like exploring, once I had reached the state I was looking to achieve, I would let my thoughts wander over to the graveyard behind me, and begin imagining the lives of the late individuals.

There were several times that I subconsciously realized that there was a funeral going on late into my session, and I would think about the family members, and of the newly deceased, and I would try to send my calmed spirit to comfort the mourning families.

Any time I meditated there, I felt like I was at home. It was definitely a great place for me.

Unfortunately, I need to find a new way to meditate to that extent now that Im away from home. That may take a while..

Then go check out the tutorials section and the videos section. Watch them till your eyes bleed, then practice until your hands bleed, then get a saniwipe and clean up all that blood before your parents think you became emo.

When i used to Meditate for fighting, I used to close my eyes and wipe all thought process from my mind. If i got an image in my mind about what might come @ me i took the frame of what i was thinking about and washed it over in white and went back to concentrating on my breathing.

Now that im out of competition fighting. Meditation has become a bit more scarce but I close my eyes, breathe deeply, cross my legs and relax my hands on my knees (typical stereotypical meditation pose) making sure to keep perfect posture and deep breaths while slowly erasing all unpleasant thoughts from my soul seems to work.
