I was just curious to hear what everyone's favorite artist is for electronic music.

I would say my top three would be...

1. Benny Benassi

2. Armin Van Burren

3. Daft Punk

Who would yours be?

Top three is tough just 'cause there are so many I truly enjoy.

But Above & Beyond is #1. Hands down.

If you liked Above & Beyond's stuff, you should check out other artists on their Anjunabeats label. They often sign other producers and DJ's with a similar sound. Their label has put out some of the top songs on the EDM charts for the last few years.

Give a listen to "Suru" by Super 8 & DJ Tab. One of my current favorites from Anjunabeats.

My tastes are prettty specific and I avoid the mainstream type trance that permeated this board at all costs because it is simply bland and not nearly as quality as a lot of other types of electronic music.

I made a little list of stuff that I highly recommend, some of it is pretty widely known but you can't really beat the classics.

The Chemical Brothers - I'm not a fan of their newest album, but pretty much anything before that is extremely dope and perfect for any dancing situation.

The Prodigy - Music for a Jilted Generation and Fat of the Land in particular

The Crystal Method-Vegas

Leftfield-Leftism

Boards of Canada-Music Has The Right to Children, In a Beautiful Place out in the country, The Campfire Headphase

Venetian Snares-Doll, Doll, Doll, Rossz Csillag Alatt Született, My Downfall

Underworld- Dubnobasswithmyheadman

DJ Shadow-Endtroducing..., The Private Press

U.N.K.L.E.- Psyence Fiction

Amon Tobin-Bricolage, Permutation, and Foley Room

Primal Scream-Screamadelica and XTRMNTR

Portishead-[i]Dummy
and Third

The Notwist- Neon Golden[i] and [i]The Devil, You + Me

The Knife- Silent Shout

Hybrid- Wide Angle

Pendulum-Hold your Colour

Trip Theory-Trip on X These guys are long gone, I believe, but they made some really cool Florida Breaks

DJ Icey-Florida Breaks he makes a lot of solid compilations

Baby Anne-Florida Breaks

Rick West-Florida Breaks, has a series of compilations, Flavored Beats, that is extremely stellar.

Blue States-Nothing Changes Under the Sun

Aphex Twin-Anything but especially The Richard D. James Album, also check out his other psydonyms particularly AFX

Infected Mushroom-Their first three albums are the only ones I enjoy, after that they sort of changed their style. (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Astral Projection-Any

Air-Moon Safari

Some others to check out
Juno Reactor
Roni Size
Dieselboy
Krust
Plump Djs
Black Sun Empire
Breakbeat Era
BT
Grooverider
LTJ Bukem
Squarepusher
DJ Cam-Instrumental Hip Hop, good nonetheless

Some of this is dancable some of it is more IDM a little psy-trance, some breakcore, big beat, if you don't know any of this most of these have myspace pages or you can d/l via torrent trackers.

Enjoy!
