Hi guys, Let me introduce myself first so that you know who you're dealing with (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) My name is Max, I'm 21 years old and I am from Germany. I've been spinning Poi for a couple of years now and decided to shoot a documentary about poi spinning. Since Poi and Glowstringing are things that are related somehow to each other I would have loved to do some interviews and shooting with people from the Glowstringing scene. I think your skills are amazing and it is a shame that "we" the Poi people know only so little about you guys. That's why I would have loved to get some glowstringers on that film as well. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any glowstringers in Europe so far (thanks to gettingthere'88 once more for helping me!) that's why I decided to post this thread on your forum to see if there is ANY chance to find people doing that stuff "over here". It doesn't matter where exactly you are living in Europe I'd just like to get in touch with you first. Unfortunately I can't afford to travel to the USA for filming for this is a real low budget film (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Or is there any chance that any of you guys will come to Europe within the next few months? Would love to hear from you! Really appreciate your work and would like to make it a little more popular among the Poi scene and Europe in general! Have a nice weekend, Max

Unfortunatly, I don't know many glowstickers from Europe, Many Poists, but not too many Glowstickers.
Might want to ask Ange, He used to live in France for a time and knows people in the Paris Poi scene, perhaps he can give a better answer to your question.

There is a limit to the application of democratic methods. You can inquire of all the passengers as to what type of car they like to ride in, but it is impossible to question them as to whether to apply the brakes when the train is at full speed and accident threatens. -Leon Trotsky
If I am to be called an elitist because I follow a code of ethics that equates to me doing something more than just getting fucked up at a party or dancing for anyone other than just myself, call me an elitist. Stop supporting sites that sell out our culture at 25$ a glove set.

QUOTE (duvan @ Jun 3 2008, 02:10 AM) there isn't any chance that any of you guys will come to Europ this year? damn I didn't know it would be _that_ difficult to find a glowstringer (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) hey man i live in europe, the netherlands. i started poi 4 months ago and got to see glowstringing pretty fast, then i bought some crystal poi at flowtoys. and i started to form my own style combining poi and glowstringing. glowsticks are hard to come by here only one store in belgium with normals. i wanted to ship ultra's here but i had to pay 200 dollar shipping costs on 250 dollar glowsticks. this wanst worth it. next summer i'm going to woodstock, georgia. im definitly lokking for some kind of a meetup or glowstringers in that area. and ofcourse i'll buy a lot of glowsticks. well guys that's my story, if there are any glowstringers in the netherlands let me know.

Well, I'm from Europe as well. I live in the Netherlands (close to the German border) but since I'm only glowstringing since half a year (or something like that) I am not that good yet. Anyway, good luck with your movie, could you post a link or something here when it is done? and to invisigoth, now you know, I'm a Dutchie (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Cheers

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love; they had 500 years of democracy and peace -- and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.
