It talks about the bible and homosexuality. It goes over things like how the bible can be distorted depending on how you read it. Nothing really new I guess. I still though it was an interesting movie.

If you get easily enraged by listening to Christian radicals then dont watch this video (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Reminds me a little of Jesus Camp. That movie was scary. It was literally a Christian extremist training camp.

I still don't know why people say God destroyed Sodom and Gomorra because of homosexuals. They mentioned homosexuality, but it was because the entire city was immersed in sin. I guess that's a little different.

I did like how they were peaceful about their message in the opening clip.

But yeah, people put way too much hate in their religions of peace in general.

The thing about bible readers is that they're like -beeeeeep-. They have selective memory, listening and reading skills.

the bible is the single most effective piece of propaganda ever written. what other piece of literature has been so successful at presenting itself as a "book of love", only to incite more wars and hate than anything in history?

    EDIT:

according to this recent article, "54% of American adults believe the Bible is literally true." In some areas of the country the number goes as high as 75%.

Great movie. It helped both my Mom and Grandparents identify with someone else who was religious and had a close relative come out to them. My Grandpa, who was a pastor for many years, even said that it helped him understand some of the issues gays and lesbians can have with the christian church.

Awesome information dispelling common bible myths, too.

within 40 seconds of watching the clip, I immediantly turned it off

being a gay person myself, I cannot stand any of this whatsoever.

I am not against religion, but those who push words down your mouth
and explain "beleive this or you will die" type bullshit pisses me off.

my parents both know that I am an agnostic, but they have recently
brought me to their attention of joining a church. After explaining how I felt
about it, they began threatening me about going, and that I will be forced to go.

If i want to go to church, Its because I want to. not because I have to.

To some this might be a hobby. To me this is not just a hobby. This site, this art. Is a huge huge part of my life. More so then any hobby ever was. I've met my best friends here. I've grown as an individual. I've learned how to be comfortable in a crowd and not be shy of what I'm doing no matter what it might be. I owe far to much to this thing some people consider just a hobby.

"'The more homosexuality, the more peaceful the species,' asserts Petter Bockman, an academic adviser at the University of OSlo's Museum of Natural History in Norway. 'Bonobos are peaceful'"

"Same sex couplings are surprisingly widespread in the animal kingdom. Observers have witnessed as many as 1,500 species of wild and captive animals engaging in homosexual activity"

"homosexuality among some specieis appears to be far more common in captivity than in the wild. Captivity may bring out gay behaviors because of a lack of opposite sex mates and a greater need for stress relief"

    -Scientific American Mind Jun/July 2008

So my guess is, according to the 3 points above, that the traumatic experience of being held captive in Noah's Ark has caused many animal species to turn gay.

However, my 2nd guess is that god created homosexuality to slow down the human population boom. very practical method in my opinion (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I have not yet finished watching the movie - I have only watched the first ten minutes or so - but it looks like it might present a promising array of views.

That said, I would like to offer my view of the matter, just to present one Christian's opinion.

I will confess, I am not well versed in all of the nuances of the Bible and those passages that are "anti-gays." I base my current inclination on the logical consideration of the nature of God. I find it hard that God would condemn homosexuality, and by that I mean love, lover's love, shared between two members of the same sex. For God is Love, as embodied in the Person of the Spirit, Who may be found to the birthing breath of all that is good. And love must be good, for God is Love and God is Good, thus love must be good if love is to embody the nature of God. And how can Love hate love? For whether man loves woman, man loves man, woman loves woman, they all still love. And love must be good.

But love is not lust and here is where God's angry eye is turned, for lust is the corruption of love, the dark mirror reflection, and God is Light, which shuns the Dark, thus God shuns lust. It is lust that is an abomination in God's sight and not love. This is a sin shared by all genders and all sexualities. This condemnation may be what some feel is directed toward homosexuals. Perhaps they feel that is all that homosexuality is - lust. But I have met some l wonderful same-sex couples and I can clearly see that they truly love each other. It is indeed love, the same sacred love that some feel can on
