I want to charge a reasonable amount of money, say 200 dollars for a personal crash course of 10 hours or 20 dollars an hour on freehand. Teaching freehand is something I really love to do, and wouldn't mind getting paid for. duh. I will also offer the EXACT SAME SERVICE completely free of charge but of course I'd have less time to do this so people with money (if anyone would take this up) would come first. Of course I will not teach douches and people who don't respect the culture. So, if anyone is interested in this please let me know! If anyone has strong objections, it would also be good to know so I can stop before I start.

no strong opinions. everyone needs some help. make sure it's WORTH it, with an actual lesson plan that people on this site can understand, and always offer pay as you go, never 200 all at once.

I could see a freehanding school in a rave intensive area happening (looks at Socal <.<). There are schools for poi, popping and etc, its the logical next step eh?
Schools like that make me think of people that want to peform though. Go learn fire poi so you can make money in gigs, learn break dancing so you can go show off. Have it be more like Tau Chi or karate where its based on personal growth and development.
Kudos to you when you make it work ^,^;

Seems like a good idea. I'd pay for a couple hours of one on one teaching / learning from you. Next time I see you....

One thing you have to make sure is NOT to hold people back on purpose.
Thats how some of the poi teachers do it in SF from what i've heard. They don't teach everything so people have to keep coming back for more lessons.
for instance you cant teach others the same way you taught me.
Cleric - Can you help me out with tutting Ginseng - Make boxes *walks away*
I also see this as a possible setup for others to do the same and then take advantage of the students because they were in it simply for the money.
I would have done this a long time ago for stringing but i saw something wrong with teaching the *underground* art to people off the site who aren't in the scene. I cant pin point what it was that felt wrong it was just something in my gut that said not to do it.
/end devils advocate.

I would also like to add that if we are going to begin whoring ourselves out / getting paid to teach *aka making it worth our time. I'm down to actually take the time out.
At this point for me to dedicate my free time during the week for free....it's an impossibility. If I were to be getting money back for my time then I could do it.
At the same time though, I'd feel horrible even asking for the money.
