How come a lot of people don't really make thought out combos? We all know that when they are thought out, they are normally the best... but a lot of people still don't do it thought out, and often churn out... bland clips. I don't think I've EVER seen anyones not thought out combos look as good as their thought out ones.

I just want to know, what's everyones reason?

Is it seriously just laziness? Because that seems pretty sad to me. I'm not trying to get on everyone, but I just wonder.

Laziness. It's the exact reason I'm taking so long to release a new video. I'm avoiding the bland.

Yeah that's what I said. We all know planned combos normally turn out better, but people still don't do them. Well some do, but many people don't.

lack of inspiration ---> less practice ---> rustiness ---> lacking of thought out combos (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I don't think things like this HAVE to be planned out. You can, but I prefer to go with the flow.

That's what he said.

I usually make short combos then combine them into one. Or I learn/come up with a new concept and work it into a combo. Then I work on good ways to link combos together. Come up with being where I teach myself regardless of whether it exists or not.

But yeah I think of it as being proficient in on-the-fly combos (what we generally call just casually "glowstringing" when you're proficient with wraps) and then working in premade combos. It allows you to dance without being repetitive, i.e. dance at a rave for several minutes without boring people.

Part of the reason is that premade combos feel overused or might not be right for the sort of music you're doing. Now the music thing is rare, but I hate reusing a combo over and over so I eventually scrap the old ones and make new ones.

You could argue that people should work out a lot of premade combos such that there's no repetition... but that would take quite a Brianish effort (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

That's normally exactly how I come up with my combos, ESPECIALLY for string manipulations. Not as much for wraps. Sometimes I'll just string and try to build up and up until I get to where I think the combo should end. Unlike
