So I've been trying to make my first video to post and also submit for the girls collab, but I'm running into a lot of trouble. I would say I'm a fairly moderate stringer when I'm just screwing around, but when it comes to video making, my strings just tangle all to hell and I hit myself a lot more than I would normally.. in the face, especially. I don't even really know what I'm doing different, but it's really frustrating me. So much for my collab submission.

I think you should secretly record yourself while practicing

wouldn't I know if I'm the one recording? it would be a good idea otherwise, though.

what i do when im on video, well at least thats what i try to do . im sure u can pull out 100 tricks when u string alone, but when you're in front of the video pull out 50 tricks .. u know what i mean, cruise it 50 - 70% of your skillz . your comfort zone . and it will not be sloppy .. and your video will turn out clean, you rather do 5 clean moves than 20 sloppy moves

have you made a routine or are you just free-styling when stringing. my best advice, would be to make a routine and practice practice practice
and while recording just do that same routine. should be much easier with less mistakes.

I was more trying to freestyle. I've thought about choreographing, but I'm not very good of thinking out combos or anything on paper.

just record yourself a LOT like everytime you practice. The you get both comfortable with being infront of the camera and plus you have a lot of footage to critique (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

if you're like me who stresses out alot when trying to link everything together... my advice would be to think less and keep your combos in a more simple order... also, try to control your speed as if you were practicing alone... since it appears that alot of people tend to string faster when being recorded...
