-either opens your mind to new ideas and ways of moving and thinking, or trains a difficult technical skill
-can be done in cyclic repetition and will continue your energy flow
-even looks cool when you're really freehanding (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

-repetition repetition repetition......

-transitions... dig through your bag of tricks and transition into your new move (set of moves) from everything you've got... ex. fig 8 into inverse heli into stomach trace into heli into buterfly trace into threads... smooth transitions are the key to a fluid expression of the music...

-work with all planes. i.e. if you're working on a heli, try to make your heli in all directions... facing the front, the ground... everywhere... by the end, you can make a ball out of heli's!

-don't be afraid to go wherever the music takes you... stray from what you know... explore the shapes and patterns that the sticks make... if you're in repetition mode and you wanna throw in a trace coz you're tired of repeating the same move.... do it... it'll help build your transitions later on....

-use ALL music... trance, house, hip hop, rock, indie, folk, allllll of it... it'll help build your recognition to the music while sticking. You'll stop thinking about what moves to do next, and you'll start using the music to tell you to how to move...
