that in some ways their freehand turns out better to genres they dont usually listen to?

like i swear freehanding to songs like
Eminem - Like Toy Soilders
Nas - I Can

i freehand great
then i do my love hard trance it comes out so sloppy.

and rock...i like it but not love it. but my freehanding is always amazing compared to any other freehand i do

but anyone else like this?

I hesitate to say "better", but definitely different. Different music can move you in a different way. There's a style of funk music that I have no clue what's called that moves me more than any other type of music. I adjust what I do with my style to suit the music I'm listening to, and with certain music that adjustment can draw out the style I feel looks best to me. So yes I do agree with you. In a way "better" might be the right term to apply to it.

Pretty much what Ph0ton said. Freehanding's a dance style in its own right, and every dance style changes according to the music that goes with it. I freehand very, very differently to different songs, and if I know a song very well, I'll have specific movements and ideas in mind for it. Other songs that affect me more profoundly are going to affect me in other ways.

Song-by-song basis for me, really. Almost like having different choreography to different songs. But I'm still new to freehanding, then again.

Try freehanding to some drum and bass then!
It can get very hip-hopish.
