Do something that shows you put thought into it.
For instance, make a basket or box (by make I mean get a box, a nice looking one.) and put things that are representative of your relationship. For example if she likes poetry, make her one with poems that you have transcribed, put them in individual envelopes and also put some pens, pencils, some stationary, book marks etc to complete the entire theme.
