What...? You thought I was gone? Listen, just because I'm annoyed with college and working doesn't mean I don't spin any more. I miss these forums, and I miss the friends I've made. It's been a good few months since I've posted, so let's get this show rolling. I promised bi-annual, so you'll get bi-annual. For anyone that needs filled in, I'll once again quote the lovely Lira: "Hybrid generally refers to routines that integrate both stringing & freehanding." -Lira Everyone that submitted to the last video, I expect you all to do it again. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) You all have plenty of time (nearly 2 months) so get working on your freehand/stringing, and send me your clips. Don't worry about editing them down unless you know which part(s) you want to see in the video. Please also remember to test your lighting before you film. *cough* Zodiac *cough* Hybrid Collab II Hybrid Collab!Editor and organizer kfR ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to submitEmail - phil.nalbone@gmail.com Upload to megaupload, rapidshare, or anything similar and PM me! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules to submit(IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Deadline is 11:59:59 May 13 so try your hardest to have the clip to me by then. I WILL ALLOW A DAY'S GRACE IF ANYONE HAS PROBLEMS AT THE LAST MINUTE.(IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Submitted clips together must be no longer than 1 minute (I suggest shorter, but that's the max), and I will use approximately 20-30 seconds of footage, give or take, showcasing both your freehand and stringing ability (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Handles do count as your stringing clip, and if you know how, may count in your freehand clip also. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Do not release your video publicly until after the collaboration is released (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Sticks must be cracked, but there is no color or type of stick required. I suggest ColorBrite for regular 8 hour sticks, any Ultras will work. (Extremeglow.com) (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/arrow.gif) Adequate lighting is required! Please shoot a test video before actually recording if this is your first video! I will ask for resubmission if the lighting is inadequate! (I will also take several measures of brightening the video myself before asking.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roll Call UPDATE AFTER EACH SUMBISSIONSubmitted footage [4] kfR Kingpinz Opacus02 ryan041493 Possibly attending [7] edweeaaan invisigoth Lira melvenorc12 Mindlesslogic SaGe Tivy

Hybrid was ment to mean anyone who freehands and strings. Not stringers who just use freehand transitions but you know, w/e.
I'm a maybe, depending on the turnout.

Lets just settle it by saying HYBRID STRINGING is doing freehand transitions with stringing...
That's what we called a hybrid for like 3 years, so that one thread was just kinda a wtf o.O moment for me.
And I'm a possible for this, not depending on the turnout =P.
Thanks for taking the time to do this!!! =D hella excited.

When I describe a move as "aerial" I am talking about what we used to call the move set of poi in glowstringing. Why? Because the word poi is what's used for the art of poi, and is mixed up every freaking day when people are referring to either the move set called poi in glowstringing or are referring to the art itself. If you're glowstringing I call it aerial, if not then I don't care what they're called.

I'm a maybe, depending on the turnout. For anyone that needs filled in, I'll once again quote the lovely Lira: "Hybrid generally refers to routines that integrate both stringing & freehanding." -Lira I don't really understand what kind of point you're trying to make, because in order to showcase your ability to string and freehand in one session, you would have to have strings attached to you throughout the routine, unless you freehand first, then pulled strings out of somewhere magical and started spinning. Either way, I didn't disallow the second part, so what's the logic? And to say that I only say that hybrid stringers are "stringers who just use freehand transitions" is a strong accusation, because I don't recall stating that anywhere. I do, however, recall stating Lira's quote for my definition of Hybrid. That being said: The turnout depends on you Mindless, so I'd love to see what you come up with for the collab. QUOTE (Opacus02 @ Mar 20 2009, 02:14 AM) Wow, already that time again? Geez, where does the time go? I wanted to post this a good bit earlier this time, and give people alot more room to work on a routine, as well as any newcomers to the forums practice for it, and anyone who may have missed it last time. But, May 13th is 6 months and 1 day past the last deadline, Nov. 12. Time really has flown, hasn't it?

well. im about stick dead at the moment so it will either be this one or gsu4. imleaning more towards this one just because the GSus are huge and dont need extra from me in fact im switching my submision to this one... aslong as it doesnt have "REEEMMIXXXX" in the title anywhere. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) there is a nice little bit of manipulation in it too to even it out

However, my girlfriend bought me about 70 pairs of good 8 hour colorbrite and lightstick glowsticks for my birthday and I still have most of them left. If you didn't want to use ultras and don't mind 8 hour sticks then I'll mail you a couple pairs. I won't charge haha, shipping will only be like 3 bucks. Just pm me and let me know. It's the least I could do for helping and supporting

since i just started exploring freehanding, and pretty much suck at it. i think this will be a nice motivation to push myself harder.
just got one question. as far as i understood the intro, it is allowed to send in 2 different clips, 1 stringing and 1 freehanding. it's also good if you have freehand transitions dureing stringing and making 1 vid this way.
am i correct??

am i correct?? Well, from the last collab, most people just sent me one clip with freehand and stringing together, both combined with some sort of transition, but it won't count against you to send me 2 different clips. I'll just edit them accordingly. It's all at your discretion. I could say that you should have the strings attached when you freehand, as it sometimes provides limitations (tosses, flips, etc.), but that would defeat the purpose of you being a hybrid sticker lol. I'll just put your clips right next to each other if I get 2 separate ones, that's all.

Just putting in my opinion: I personally really dislike it when inside of a collab there is a transition to the same glowsticker. I understand it's going from stringing to freehand, but it just looks very out of place to me =X.

I'm gonna start working on my freehand transitions like a mofo so I can submit to this too!
