well, i started dissapearing from the community back sometime after our wedding and moved to Kentucky. We moved in with some of the greatest musicians and DJs we have ever met, but low and behold Hurricane Ike somehow managed to nail us all the way up in Kentucky.
We watched a forty foot pine tree snap like a twig in broad daylight leaving us without power for almost two weeks. at the same time we didn't have jobs so we had no money so our phones were turned off. We then learned what it was truly like to be dirt broke with no sign of getting back on our feet.
It wasn't until midway through October that we were told we had four days to come up with $500 or we would be evicted. Phoenixxx and Lurch played host for our farewell party (we had no choice but to leave Kentucky) and introduced us to all the local artists, fire poiists, DJs, etc. They are some of the kindest and most welcoming people we have ever met.
We left the next morning sneaking all of our belongings out our window to avoid our landlord (landlord lived with us) It was a painful drive back to Iowa to then try and regroup with my mom, two sisters, aunt and uncle. Luckily they lived on a farm so there was adequate space. But then the last quarter of 2008 took effect. We had gotten jobs but at the rate we were going we would be out of money two weeks prior to paychecks. Things only got worse from there as my mom and aunt started having conflicts amongst themselves.
My Littlest sister Melena had gotten sick back in May with a strep infection on her hip, but had cleared up since then. My first sister had been traumatized by seeing her baby sister in the hospital and when she got sick she hid it from everyone for nearly a month. Her kidneys had developed a strep-like infection that was literally killing her. It was then that we knew we had to leave our family. It was the most painful drive down to Texas leaving our family fully aware that mom only had $50 and no hope of recieving more money (self-employed accountant)
Ph0ton let us stay with him on the way back, and from there we made a stop in Arlington. GSC members had arranged it that we would have a place to live, if we could just figure something out until December when Sawyer would be getting back. So we proceeded down to Austin to stay with Misty's family.
It had been exactly one year ago that we moved away from Austin. Spade embraced us with open arms and took us to an event that friday to welcome us back (mad hatters tea party 7) We met up with Domino, a dallas member that had moved to Austin before we left to Kentucky. that weekend was something special for all of us, a brief glimpse of hope.
At the start of November we started our trek towards Mississippi to stay with Misty's extended family. We stayed with her grandmother, aunt, and brother until December 12th, in which we had recieved word from Sawyer that he was on his way back. Ph0ton once again coming to our rescue, wired us money (christmas gift) and we drove straight to his place where we stayed for a week waiting on Sawyer. The time we spent with Ph0ton brought back hope again, that we could possibly get back to a stable life once again.
We moved in with Sawyer the day before christmas (my birthday) and we celebrated a re-uniting of the Dallas GSC family. I had gotten ahold of my mom again and found out that the kind people of Iowa did everything in their power to help her and my sisters (raffles, boosters, etc.) Ana-Jade was getting better, but was having to be put on chemo and steroids. They had found a place to live and were settled and happy again.
Everything seemed to be going great, until new years rolled around. Sawyer was set to marry Lesli but he was getting cold feet, and somehow in his absence she had lost her job and had gotten $900 behind on rent. They split up and we all parted ways. We then moved to Argyle, a little town outside of Denton. Well after two months Sawyer started to show his true colours along with the other "rommmates" in that they weren't ready to grow up and get life going, they just wanted a place to stay and use for parties with no intention of maintennance or paying for anything.
They ate us out of house and home and cost us everything. we had to break the renter's contract, but through some last minute searching, Misty and I found a perfect little nest back in Arlington nestled in between major highways and malls (we are near EVERYTHING) We are currently helping my family get back to Dallas, there is nothing for them in Iowa, and hopefully the silver lining on this thunderstorm will start to shimmer brighter than it has in a long time =D glad to be back!
