Miscellaneous Information:
The second annual GSC Panel at the San-Japan Anime Convention. Includes discussion of the culture and history of glowsticking, a question and answer session, examples of glowsticking, and a hands-on glowsticking workshop.

If you would like to participate in this panel or help teach in the hands-on workshop, please contact Tyshi, Ph0toN, or Trance-Rckr. You must have a full understanding of GSC culture.

If you are banned from GSC you are not allowed to participate, no exceptions.

Please be prepared to be there for at least half an hour before the panel and half an hour afterward to help with the setup and cleanup.

Several of us will also be working with security during the nightly dances (fri & sat) to keep stringers inside the designated area, so stick around for the dances and hang out with us!

If i can get a ride out there i could help if nothing is going on, but ill have to let you know mid july...

Seriously like if i cant get a good 3-5 people besides me chances are this panel could get dropped

Also planning on shooting a video infront of the alamo sometime during san-japan...... it would be cool

August 14th-16th

We have our panel set up schedueled for 730pm on friday if i remeber correctly. So im pretty much hyped up to go.

So far we have Me, Shuuichi, and WolfRaver, and im talking to ph0ton as we speak about him coming down.

We have the same project set up as we did for ikki-con with stringing during the dances at san-japan. We will be setting up a small area in the dance/concert rooms against the far wall where kids will be able to glowstring, break, juggle, etc. it will be marked off clearly with tape. We will be monitoring the area making sure everything goes ok and making sure no one is stringing out side of the designated area.

I might be able to make the panel... depends on a couple of things. I'll likely be in the AUstin area.

To Those that want to go help with us at San-Japan:

This is a pretty important event for us Texas members. This could possibly bring new GSC members and new friends to meet and have fun with. From what current members are going, all of us are working hard to get this Panel to run as smooth as possible. If you want to go and are currently not on the roll call list:

Expect to help out. Every GSC member that is going/may be going is helping with some part of the panel. Some is working on audio/video presentations, some are working on advertisement for the panel, and others are working behind the scenes to help both the Panel and San-Japan workers/attendees have a fun time.

We will be explaining the values and core beliefs and culture of Glowsticking and GSC.
This means that we want everyone going to make sure that they understand what GSC is. If you still dont understand the culture or any parts of GSC, visit and read all of the articles on this link.

We will be part of security of the San-Japan Dances.
Along with the panel, we will help out at San-Japan during their dances on both friday and saterday night. There will be a sectioned area off for stringers/poi-ists, and we must make sure that they are contained in that area. We dont want people to hit anyone with their strings/poi so we must keep them in the defined area of the dancefloor.

Does this mean its all work and no play?
Of course not! We are going to the convention to show people what we love to do, and hopefully make new friends in the end. We get to demonstrate for others the types of glowsticking, and we will also have times at the dances to ourselves so that we can have fun and enjoy the dance with everyone else. On TOP of that, we are going to be in the beautiful San Antonio, so we will definatly be exploring the city and hopefully filming at some awesome places!

As Photon has posted above, if you want to join us and help out, by all means contact any of the names listed. We will be more than happy to go into depth and explain what we plan to do. Theres still alot of work to be done but in the end I feel that we will have a successful panel and enjoy the company of fellow GSC members (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This is coming up in 15 days! Still time to plan and save money guys! It'd be very nice to get some more gsc members from around the southern / central area of Texas to show up.

We're considering this a full meetup as well as the panel, because on the saturday after the panel we'll be touring san antonio and filming some glowsticking in some beautiful remote locations. That would be the perfect time to meetup even if you don't have money for the anime convention.

I might actually be in san antonio for this because my dad wants to take my little brother to sea world so, if i don't get hired too quickly to this job i applied to i shall be there (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

How many of you guys are staying for the weekend?

Those of us coming from Dallas will be there Friday evening, all day Saturday, and then leave Sunday afternoon.

Awesome, just found out that I won't be getting there early enough for the panel, but if I decide to go anyway I'd be there for the weekend.

Okay guys, horrible news. Due to unexpected circumstances those of us from Dallas don't think we're going to be able to make it to this. Let me give you the rundown on what's going on:

First off, Valeranth can't make it period. We knew this was a possibility but it was confirmed in the last couple of days.

Second, the car we were going to take, mine, has 2 bad tires on it and can't make it to SA. My parents were going to get the tires replaced, but the money they thought they were going to get last week didn't come through so I have no way to replace the tires. They won't let me take the car with tires that are ready to blow out, especially with other people in the car besides myself, because the car is in their name so if there was a wreck due to a tire blowing, they're at fault.

Our backup plan was Trance-Rckrs car, but it has engine trouble and a bad axle and won't be able to make it. So this leaves us with no transportation to get down there.

The only possible chance we have, is if Broly can come up with a car, which is highly unlikely. However, even in that event, due to my parents not getting the money I have no way to pay for gas, parking, or food.

So at the moment we're brainstorming, trying to figure out where to get a car and the money to go. If we can't come up with either within the next couple of days, it's definitely going to be a no-go.

If any of you guys can think of a way around this, please post it up asap or hit up one of us on AIM.
