The A-Kon 2009 GSC Meetup:Once again it is time for the annual A-Kon meetup! I'm going to try to keep this as short and simple as possible: A-Kon runs from the 29th to the 31st this year. The official GSC meetup will be on Friday the 29th at 4pm and end at 8-9pm. However many GSC members may be there all day each day. The location of the meetup inside A-Kon will be decided closer to time. A-Kon 2009 Official WebsiteFor those of you who can't afford A-Kon this year (like me) you can still attend the meetup, just don't pay the entry fee for A-Kon. You'll still have access to most of it, you just won't be able to go in the sales room or into the so called "rave" they have in the evenings. The Afterparty:The official GSC afterparty for this will be at Afterlife at the party The Life Aquatic. Keep checking back for more updates. Outside the sales room there's tables with crafts and stuff that people sell, and there's cosplayers all over the place. Most of the hotel is open to wander around freely, you just can't go in the sales room, the parties they have, the video game room, or any of the little events they have throughout the day. None of us ever really do any of that stuff anyway, the sales room is pretty much the heart of it but if you don't have money to buy anything it's kind of pointless to go in there.

Looks like we're going to be postponing the camping "pre-meet" since nobody will be able to make it. Maybe we'll do it sometime in June.

Okay, it looks like they've done some re-modeling on the hotel so the map isn't correct anymore. I'm not 100% sure if they'll have the other floors blocked off to people who don't have akon passes so I'm kind of afraid to set up a meet location up there. I think the best bet is to meet just inside the main doors of the hotel on the first floor at 4pm. My cell phone number is 903-271-9350. If you've got a cell phone that always works the best, especially with how many people will be clustered near the main doors. If you don't want to post up your number you can pm it to me and tyshi. I'll attempt to get tyshi's number tonight, but he may already be on his way to dallas. Hopefully he's not, otherwise finding him will be next to impossible. Also there's a major downfall on my part, I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to have the gas money (it'll take me probably $30+) and the money for the parking (parking there is expensive - $10+, last year I got charged $18) so I may end up having to bail on this tomorrow. It'll all come down to luck for me, if I can get my mom to give me the money. Sadly all of 2009 has been like this for everyone in texas (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'll post up tomorrow if I'll be able to make it or not. I feel so bad having to say that. Check this thread tomorrow, or if you're already there by the time I wake up try calling my cell and I'll let you know if I can make it or not.
