I gues it is okay if you go to church because of a girl, my only question, can't you meet her in other places? I mean, I can think of more romantic places than a church to be honest. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

ok, that's true. does she have aim/msn and do you have the adress of that? If so, might I suggest to get to know her a bit better through that and than ,once you know her a bit better, propose to go somewhere to get to know each other. It is what I usually do, although I usually do not get them to go with me somewhere but that is, I think, just because of me (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

If so, I'd say it's ok. If not, it's pretty shallow. There are many things that are wrong in this case. You lying to the girl. You're leading her on to believe you are whatever religion. You're disrespecting the religion. Now the people that say you're lying to yourself. No not really. If you have your own beliefs and convictions, then no. I'm not voting yet, but seriously, just try to get to know her outside of church....there are plenty of other places that I'm sure you can see her or hang out with her.

I think that it will be better to keep it out of church, after having read the other posts, I think that the posters of them have a point, you are kind of lieing. As I said before, I can think of much more romantic places to hang out. And on top of that, I know better ways to spend my time than being in Church (I hope that I don't offend anyone with that, it's just that I'm an atheist and that I rather dislike going to church, so again, no offence meant).

Hahaha nice. I say all's fair in love and war. You're not lying to anyone you're just attending a public gathering. I go to my g/f's church because it makes her happy, I don't believe any of it and have to not giggle a lot but I'm not 'disrespecting' anyone by just being there. QUOTE yeah see the thing is i dont know her that well so it'll be kinda creepy to just be like hey wanna go do some thing Wrong, if you're social enough you can ask someone to hang out with out even knowing them first. I think you're setting yourself up for trouble tho by going to her church, the time might come where you have that awkward conversation of 'I went to your church to hit on you'. Creepers much?

I went BACK to church for a girl i used to like, and i told her early on i am going so i can spend time with you =). I knew her for a while though so i didnt come off as a stalker, but I think its best to let her know pretty soon, before it gets out of hand. I'm fascinated with the fact that a lot of people live their lives based on being scared of going to "hell" (of course being whatever definition you wish to assign to that word). Just live and be happy with yourself dude.

What the hell?
On behalf of girls everywhere, and common sense in relationships:
1) Just talk to the chick. If you don't, she'll never even know you're doing this for her, which completely kills the whole point of doing it. I mean, if you don't get to know her, SHE'S NOT GONNA KNOW YOU EXIST. Which, you know, also doesn't help, and is even worse than getting turned down, because with that you can at least say you tried.
2) Do YOU actually want to go to church at all? If you don't believe in it, you're not being yourself. And this applies to life as a whole, not just this: if you want someone to like you for something you're not, then that person isn't going to like you for you-- they're gonna like you for who they think you are/how you're acting. And that just all falls apart.
Geez.

lol @ lira. i can picture you turning into a big green monster and running around saying "LIRA SMASH"
but i agree.... JUST TALK TO HER. you don't need to be at a church. note: i assume you are the regular don juan. don't be shy.
it actually worked out quite well for me. i volunteer at the church for sunday school, and so it was rather convenient when a girl (that i only kind of knew) started helping as well. Now i spend a lot more time with her outside of church.
as for religion, i could care less if she is a devout christian. just respect whatever she chooses to believe, and do so under any conditions. a lot of people have problems with this. it's the cause of most of the worlds problems.
so while i think that religion is just a mechanism for social control that just developed into a large moneymaking scheme, if she does believe that there is a god and a heaven and hell, then by all means i will respect the decision she has made.
just don't go to church just to be with her. its stupid and pointless. i am off the hook because i like volunteering and working with kids, but you have to come up with a better reason than "because she will be there".
edit: i would have voted for " *facepalm " but that wasn't an option.
