http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxe70Q5Bjn0Great track. Unfortunately I can't find the whole version anywhere (probably not released). You can download a rip of the track from a number of websites.

Yep, unreleased. It'll be out on June 8! Here's a 320 kbps set rip: http://www14.zippyshare.com/v/35242918/file.htmlI have to say that I'm fairly impressed. The original didn't stand out, and Justine's vocal work was pretty generic. But Gareth made the vocals sound richer in this version-- I think because they used minimal effects in the original version, and Gareth added a couple of panned reverb layers to his remix, and some vocal cuts that work REALLY well after the chorus-- and backed it with a stronger instrumental. (why oh why is he playing at a 21+ venue when he comes to NYC this summer? T_T) So far, I like this much better that Daniel Kandi's remix of On A Good Day. Funny, because On A Good Day was one of the only album-original songs that I liked. Sucks to be disappointed by its remix.

First to say that yes the track is pretty smooth but it's not my kind of song, however this mix version is a bit more uplifting (in comparsion with the original) but is still too flat for my personal taste and the vocals aren't any special or woah! Good to listen to just to listen to.
Personally a lot of Above & Beyond and Oceanlab material has been stuck in an endless bucket of uncreativeness and this is another release example of it. My opinion! Flame away...!
Evil Lira and her rip findings! >_>

Some of this track is pretty generic to Anjuna and A&B, but there was just something about it that made me love it.

HeeYoun-Sohn and Scrifting I'm gonna have to say the vocals, I dunno why... or perhaps not? it is a very smooth song indeed (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Even though it didn't carry that A&B euphoria vocal feel.

I'm going to have to agree, sadly. I love Justine's voice-- it's a huge inspiration, since she can sound beautifully uplifting in so many songs without even cluttering her voice up with fancy vocal tricks (vibrato, too much melisma, etc)-- it's just her pure voice. But that also runs the risk of falling flat, since she's singing flat.
Lonely Girl doesn't really peak anywhere, and it comes nowhere near to Sirens of the Sea or Miracle in terms of emotional impact for me if I heard it at a party. It's a nice listening track & good remix, though. I just didn't expect much from the original to begin with.
Eeeek. I started a long post, but I don't want to hijack the thread. -shoops off-

QUOTE (Straat @ May 12 2009, 06:37 PM) Personally a lot of Above & Beyond and Oceanlab material has been stuck in an endless bucket of uncreativeness and this is another release example of it. My opinion! Agreed...when Above & Beyond first got into the trance scene it was a big deal and their productions were out of this world at the time. It seems to me like they are producing tracks now in order to please crowds, now that they are much more well-known.

The original of this track sux in my opinion. I love Emery's remix though.
I disagree that Above & Beyond is producing tracks NOW in order to "please the crowd". Going back to the tracks "No One On Earth" and the remix of "Air For Life" which was 4-5 years back, there aren't many people that will tell you they don't like these tracks and that hearing them will bring back great memories.
They are great DJs and have stayed true to what they mainly produce which is vocal and uplifting trance.

Perhaps the reason so many people loved A&B (and still do) is because they have a "familiar sound." In the beginning people heard it, loved it, and now it's become an important part of Trance for a lot of people.

The track is released now if you wanted to look for it. You can find it on chemicalrecords.co.uk or htfr.com and others (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/D.gif)
