so, this morning i wake up.. and get a text, the first text i have gotten in over a year by someone that wasn't related to me. I don't know who it is, eventually i figure out it is a girl, that i kind of like, and have been friends with for a while.. a few texts later, she refers to me as someone else, it turns out she thought she thought i was someone else. so i tell her its me, and she replies "oh, sorry" and stops talking to me.. it just pisses me off.. makes me feel like everyone i thought was my friend actually just tolerates me, and would prefer if i just left them alone.

I know how you feel on the people toleration you but prefering being left alone part. That is how I feel at my school. It is like everyone wouldn't mind if you weren't present at all (or is that taking it a bit too far?). As for advise on this, I don't know if getting advise was the intend of this topic, I can't really give you any since I myself still have this problem so I don't have a solution to it. If you want to talk, you can add me on AIM or MSN (both can be found in my profile) Cheers

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love; they had 500 years of democracy and peace -- and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.

damn man i feel the same way. especially as i get older i notice that 90% of the time someone contacts me it because they want/need something. whatever happened to just hanging out shooting the breeze? (irl social networking doesn't count imo) my apologies im a bit biased because my wife is a facespace addict (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

For some people there is no other option than social networking. Since I don't have that many friends around where I live, most of my friends are people who I know through social networking and most of those people are people who I know through gsc but have never ever seen in real life before (there are one or two exceptions). I do agree with you though that rl socializing is better than through internet etc. but I wouldn't go as far as saying that socializing through the internet is not a good thing. cheers (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

But maybe if we all take hallucinogens, we can piece our minds together, stage a rebellion and live in peace and love! /sarcasm.
