  • Personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • be respectful. acting like a munchkin will get you treated as such.
  • be supportive, although you may view one person's problem as trivial, to them, it may actually be a life or death issue.
  • sometimes, we all need to simply agree to disagree.
  • finally, there are no right or wrong answers, only opinions. so avoid the "you're wrong and are goig to burn in hell" or "well, you are just stupid" retorts when you don't like what someone has to say. no matter how hard you try, you cannot make someone agree with you if they don't see it that way.
  • Avoid intellectual dead-endsTry avoid using phrases like, "it's useless talking to you!" or "you are all one-sided and my opinions can't change you". Instead, follow the ways of socrates and try to INCREASE discussion by asking questions. Be OPEN-MINDED. This is just a forum and you are unlikely you will change anyone elses viewpoints, but you may learn a thing or two. Hypothetically accept viewpoints now and then for the sake of discussion and to fully understand their viewpoints.
  • Try to type on a level that's somewhat formal. Abreviations or slang words are not recommended because people will just not take you seriously.
  • Avoid cursing and slander.
  • DO reference your thoughts with links and outside references for people to peruse. That will encourage a sideways debate.
  • If a debate spurns a new side-debate, make a new thread, and be kind enough to link to the new thread.
  • Be DESCRIPTIVE in your topic descriptions.
  • PROOF-READ! Absolute correctness is not necessary, but people should at least get what you are saying.

That's pretty lame. The definition of what a family is changes for people, and I guess the people who own or manage the pool have a different meaning of "family" in mind, unfortunately.

    --------------------

Old story has it that, as we go through life we really don’t change, we just become more of the same. You look around you as the years go by and it seems a very valid premise. People don’t change. As a matter of fact, most of us resist change very strongly. Yet change is a sure thing, the only variable is rate; slow we read as evolution, and fast as revolution.

To me a family consists of 2 loving parents be it same-sex or not and children who they raise and love. I find what they did there terrible and I hope that they get what they deserve. >_<

The definition of a family has always been of personal nature, it's nobody else's business to tell anyone who is or isn't their family. :\

it should count as a family, as i recently did a mock trial involving families. something about 6 people who live together for non commercial reasons, something like that. i think this is unfair.
different states could have different definitions for family, or maybe the previous definition i said is a federal law. idk. i lost the packet =X

Things like this really enrage me. Totally unfair and unjust for them to do that and I think they should take it to court if at all possible.

Wow, what's next, denying single parents the family rate, because they don't have a significant other? Fuck that, I would boycott that pool AND take it to court AND make it damn well known what they did and how messed up that is.

That's just nuts, it truly sickens me the way people act. It's like they are saying "NO! YOU MUST DO/THINK/ACT/LOVE/ AS WE DO, OR YOU ARE WRONG!"

    FUCK THAT!

Sadly, that's what majority of people think in every aspect of everything nowadays :\

    It sickens me too.

i think it doesent matter if the parents are the same sex or the opposite sex...
as long as the parents are loving and taking care of the children as they are suppost to its all groovy..
there are actually same sex parents that treat there children better than opposite sex parents...
    but its everyone's opinion..
