So yesterday i found this program called Virtual dj that is basically turn tables and i can mix and do effects and all this stuff to songs. So i get to start learning how to do this stuff before i actually go out and buy turn tables then turn out not to like it or something. But i am so excited to start learning to dj.

I've been using Virtual DJ since I've started Djing almost 3 yeas ago. I DJ at Clubs in NYC and have my own internet show called Tainted Transmission. I've used other software like Traktor, Ableton, and Torq. Virtual DJ, by far, surpasses all of them in stability and matches Ableton. Ableton is for more advanced users but for beginner and intermediate use, I suggest Virtual DJ. Check out this link from my show last Sunday. I have a Hybrid setup with a macbook pro laptop, DJm 800 mixer, CDJ 1000 Mk3s and I use Virtual Dj software. The show rocked. Had about 200 viewers not my highest audience count as we have reached about 1000 before. Check it out this Sunday at 8:30pm Eastern. It has a full chatroom with 7 live cameras and most people on this website who like Electronic Music tune in. Tainted Transmission 20 Pt1

You need someone who will be with you when the music stops and the bass subsides. If you think that's her , let it be known.

Very interesting, I've been looking for something like this. Thanx It's a decent website, however, when I have too much traffic, it can lag a bit. It's free though and you can't beat 7 live webcams plus music. The sound quality is superb as well. Lemme know if you need help setting up. What kind of music do you spin btw?

I'll prolly need some help the first time I try this. Won't be anytime soon tho cuz I need to get back to my fighting weight first.
I play a little bit of everything meng. I prefer to spin house, breaks, progressive and trance. I'd like to get into D n B, but that's like a whole other world. Not ready for that at the moment.

Fighting weight? Do you box or do MMA or something? Spinning D n B is just about the same as spinning any other genre of electronic music. For the most part its just faster and the beat slightly differs. I'm sure you can get the hang of it right away. Especially if you spin breaks.

The only person I fight with is myself. I meant that I need to get back into DJ shape. I stopped spinning for almost 2 years and I just started up again. It's like riding a bike, but I still need a bit more practice before I'll feel comfortable spinning live.
I actually prefer jungle over D n B. Ur timing is critical to keep the flow going and I'm my own hardest critic. Just gotta practice more.

I've been using VDJ since I started last year, its much easier to get into the having to shell out over a 1000 bucks to find out wither or not its for you. Right now I'm using a Numark Stealth Midi controller and its pretty awesome. Its definitely the most portable set up I've ever seen (not the numark stealth in particular, but all in one midi's in general) which is great if you're part of the underground. Can Break it up and GTFO in like a minute. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness. Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict -- alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.
