Just wanted to ask a question. How long do they actually last? I've heard that they'd only last for a fairly small amount of time, around 12 hours or if you freeze it around 3 days.
If that's the circumstance which would you suggest, buying a new one every glowsticking session or buying a big bulk?

their are many types of glowsticks, the main kinds are 12 hours, and ultras or 5 minutes. if you freeze them, then re-heat them via microwave, they will re-glow, but for a shorter amount of time, and less brightly. i wouldn't recommend this because if you over heat them they explode, and everything you microwave will taste like glowstick for the next six months (personal experience >.>).
as far as practice goes, just use them dead, or unlit. you don't need to crack new ones every time. also, if you are set on cracking every time, buying in bulk is considerably cheaper.

Sometimes its just best to hold your tongue..even on a forum.
You could always use a black light and such when practicing itll make them seem like its glowing. but in general i can squeeze a few days out of a pair by freezeing them. though i dont nuke em in a microwave.

William Shakespeare Sonnet 40
Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all; What hast thou then more than thou hadst before? No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call; All mine was thine before thou hadst this more. Then if for my love thou my love receivest, I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest; But yet be blamed, if thou thyself deceivest By wilful taste of what thyself refusest. I do forgive thy robbery, gentle thief, Although thou steal thee all my poverty; And yet, love knows, it is a greater grief To bear love's wrong than hate's known injury. Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows, Kill me with spites; yet we must not be foes.
Yeah, from my experience - over 12 years, most "novelty grade" glowsticks last anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, depending on the color and ambient temperature, could last much longer if it's a lower temperature, or could last shorter if it's a warmer temperature - but like others have stated earlier, it also depends on the color the glowstick is as well - green and yellow last longer and are brighter; where as red, and white last shorter, but blue lasts probably the most even ammount of time if I'm not mistaken (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
I bought some "Brightstick" brand green "12 hour" glowsticks from Target - in the Dollar spot, by the cartwell in the front of the store, and they last anywhere from 3 to 4 days - I kid you not, and the green color is a nice even green -not a yellowish-green like some sticks - LOL - but they are $1 each and will be gone soon from Target and probably won't be restocked after mid-July - but the company that makes them is called "Total Resources Int'l" - phone # 1-866-888-4321 (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
You can freeze them by getting a baggy, filling it with water, dipping the stick in the water and letting the water freeze around it, then pouring hot water to defrost them. I got 6 days of glow from them.
