I'm very new to GSC and this weekend was my very first meetup/EDC/Ultra Circle(ect.) so I'm pretty noobish. However, I saw some phenomenal freehanding this weekend that was nothing less than inspirational. I'm sure many of you felt the same. SO what are your thoughts on what you saw? Did anything you saw inspire you to try and "level up"? Did you learn something new? Tell me your thoughts. =] (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/horse.gif) (ps. Some of these emotes are sooo random...) =]

The thing that inspired me the most was seeing so many dedicated members (not just to the community, but for the art) glowsticking together and just enjoying themselves. You can be the most influential glowsticker if you're the one having fun. I always hate seeing stink-faced glowstickers trying too hard and getting pissed off when they don't land the move/combo that was attempted.
There's also the combination of so many different styles that it was mindblowing. We had the finger isos all the way to the summoners and jugglers. =) Always great to see the art being pushed.
Btw, Welcome to the community. You probably didn't meet me, but at EDC I was wearing black the second day and blue the first.

Yeah I met a lot of people both days and shirt colors aren't pretty hard to remember...but nice to meet you just the same. (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I'd have the agree, you could feel the passion all around. All I could see were smiles and laughter and I got some lessons from new friends and support from old ones. Definitely a positive experience.

Woah, ellezdey-retro is in a freehanders thread!!!! Well, guess what? i saw sooooo much variety in freehand glowsticking at edc, that i am officially turned on! Just like when i started doin handles, id seen the massive amounts of variety that was possible, and until EDC, i hadnt really known of the variety and the fun that was possible with freehanding. Actually, i think my eyes were opened up to glowsticking in general. I wanna start stringing without handles sum more now too.
Adub gave me a freaking intense freehand lightshow with sum cyalumes; i had seen this kinda thing b4, but only on videos, and never was i too impressed until EDC and getting to see all of the amazing freehanders live. Ravergirl, madraverrai, Merlin, and Tankzilla too. All of that freehanding intensity, i hadnt seen at that level b4. so i think ima start sum freehanding and see how it goes.

I had an amazing time at the party, it was my first meetup and my first ultra circle and i enjoyed it very much. There was talent everywhere and i'm happy that all of us could come together and expand on an amazing art.
My mind was definitely blown many times, it was great to finally get to see madraverrai, spazzman, adub, merlin, ravergirl, and many others i was very much inspired by every person i met and i thank all of you for showing me a good time.
Until the next time ^.^
I'm going to work on getting a camera and try and come out with some tutorials, i'll keep my fingers crossed.

My mind was just blown away multiple times by the amount of talent that I saw, it was awesome going to EDC and watching people in action. One week after, I realized that I haven't practiced seriously in at least a few years and how much I truly missed glowsticking. I'm gonna go for a serious practice run this summer and see what I come up with. It will be interesting for sure.
