Have any of you heard of these or tried these? It looks like it could be at a minimum a great set of practice sticks. Rechargeable through regular light and no batteries? Are they balanced? Do they really glow bright? Anyone know? http://www.clubandrave.com/nightshine_pro_...ight_stick.html

These look really cool, but how many sticks do you get for the 11 bucks?

They're sold out, but if I remember correctly; these are just hollow glowstick tubes with a sheet of glow in the dark paper rolled up inside.
This means that there would be no weight. =( Sorry to burst your bubbles.

QUOTE (DreiHarteZero @ Jul 2 2009, 05:12 PM) Couldn't you just fill it with sand or something to weigh it down then? They wouldn't be as bright because the light wouldn't radiate in all directions, I'm guessing. But you could always weigh them down at one end & use them for stringing...in which case I'd rather use LED sticks anyway. Wish we had rechargeable freehand-weight sticks. I'm also skeptical that they glow for 12 hours. If so, probably relatively dim after an hour, because latent glow-in-the-dark stuff still can't be that powerful.

If I remember correctly, Ange brought up this topic before. Also, I believed I've seen a clip on these sticks in use in which they were just horrible...the brightness were as dim as 12 hrs at it's last hour...

well you could always just buy a can of glow in the dark paint and paint a pair of dead sticks, that would be cheaper, and waited perfectly. then if you have a black light they would be bright enough for practice for sure.

This means that there would be no weight. =( Sorry to burst your bubbles. I actually own a pair of these and that isn't exactly true.... They're totally typical glowstick casings filled with a hard glow-in-the-dark fluid which is charged by sunlight and UV light. They weigh and feel exactly the same as normal 6-inch sticks. If you buy a pair of these, be aware that if you want full usage out of them you should own a small blacklight as well to charge them up quickly and easily. They also glow EXTREMELY well under UV light. These are great for practice at home, but aren't bright or practical enough for any other purpose..... The $11 buys you one pair.

You should post an overview video! charge em up in natural sunlight for like an hour then go in a dark room and show em. then artificial light like a regular bulb. Then see how good it works once charged with a black light and how well it works directly in the black light. That would be really cool (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
