So I was just wondering if anyone has tried glowstringing w/elastic strings! (sorry if this topic has been discussed!) I was going to try it but it seems harder =P even though it looks like there are some few tricks that can be done w/elastic string haha well idk maybe... just a random comment! What do you guys think?
Anways I think I'll stick to glowstringing w/normal strings for a while..

its okay. harder, if anything.

wraps are much harder because the tension isn't there. other than that, its like normal stringing.

one cool aspect is that as you string faster, centripital force (i think) forces the strings to be longer. this makes some really cool moves possible.

oh yeah. work mainly on normal strings. it will help you get things down right.

The bouncing effect looks pretty cool though... has anyone tried stringing with chains?

lol the chains are going to be heavier than the sticks itself. what benefit would chains do? xD

I couldn't see stringing with chains working really well at all unless you attached like 4 or 5 glow sticks to each chain, but then you'd just have the glow equivalent of fire poi, but the elastic strings are pretty neat. I think part of it is because as a stringer there's a certain predictability I've come to expect with the spinning of anything, and seeing the sticks fly around like that breaks that, and its pretty cool. Ultimately it just feels kind of novel, but its kind of neat, not too practical I'd imagine, but cool none the less.

Yeah I know, but it'd be interesting to see a person do it; to actually keep its control would be harder

Let me tell you guys this... the elastic strings were WAYYY more fun than it looked in my video. =)

In terms of potential, I think in a 360 perspective there's a lot to be created with elastic strings. However, in the wallplane view it will just look awkward and uncoordinated. Bear in mind that I was using mostly wallplane moves with elastic strings, which didn't work so well. You need to come up with elastic moves for elastic strings.

I tried stringing with chains last night and tada now its come full circle <3 haha

It wasnt that different, it seems like it would be but i could still do pretty much all the moves I do, even orbitals. try it out you firepoi freeeeaks :] it's fun! that's my two cents. <3
