So I'm definitely very new here and to glowsticking in general, but I really think this is something that I am going to stick with (no pun intended) for a while.
My question is, how big is the community at GSC? I often find it hard on forums to really connect to people because the community is so big. I think one thing that is very helpful, regardless of the active community size, is the regions section. It will definitely be a huge help to me in about a year when I move to California, as right now I'm in Atlanta and, doing some searches, I haven't really found many posts regarding the area.
I'd love to become a part of the community, especially as I improve and am able to actually contribute something. Thanks =)

I believe we do have a few members in the Georgia area, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. When you move to California, you'll realize it will be somewhat of a culture shock when almost every weekend there's a party/event in which one of our members attends. This makes it a lot easier to find help when needed.
To reiterate, while our community is somewhat large, we have enough members to make finding help and meeting up rather easy. =) If you think your region is dead, go ahead and help promote to build upon it. It never hurts to gain more members.
Hopefully I answered your questions, and if you have anymore do not hesitate to post or contact me.
Welcome to GSC!

There are a lot of people in Cali. Georgia doesnt really have as many. But there are still a few so you should try contacting them. Its kind of hard to tell how big our community is. We have like 100-200 active members. But most of them dont post that often. A lot of people lurk though so the actual amount of people that we reach is much larger. Directly and indirectly its probably like thousands.. Even if there arent any people in your area you should still post on the boards and get involved. Most people here are friendly and will help you with any problems that you have. If you get involved you will probably learn faster. and if you are an active member you will make contacts which will make it easier to meet people in person (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Yeah, there are probably near the thousands in lurkers or inactive members due to the current financial or social circumstances. California, though, is very active, so you should have no issues finding members. California is so big, that it is divided into NorCal and SoCal. Feel free to post up what area and we can always suggest who is where and who to talk to!

The only stupid question is the question that isn't asked.
Even though the community is large, when you browse through the forums you'll start seeing "regulars". For your area, shouldn't be hard to meetup with people, just post a thread and you'll get responses. (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
SoCal has a huge scene. San Diego is a bit more active than LA, but that may change as a few members go off to college. West covina has a few members too... That is off the top of my head.

Definitely, I'll be there during the fall semester and spring. Right now, I'm in Oxford, England, studying abroad, and won't be back until August 9. Ya, the Varsity was literally a 2 minute walk from where I lived last year. This upcoming year it will be about a 2 minute car drive. Let me know if there are any string meet ups. Hopefully by the time I'm back in the state, I'll have progressed a bit from my current ground zero state. =P
By the way, does your boyfriend string?
