MASSIVE RE-EDIT! Workshop Information: The Art of Glowsticking will be a two day, three hour workshop that spans the first and third day of Anime Expo. Our first workshop will be on Thursday, July 2nd, from 5 PM to 7PM, in Workshop Room 2 (LACC 511). Our second workshop will be on Saturday, July 4th, from 7 PM to 8PM, in the same room as before. Instructors please be at the workshop room 1 hour before the start of our workshop on Thursday so we have some time to get organized, set up, and briefed. That means all instructors are there at 4 PM on Thursday. Instructors: You know who you are. I will be calling each of individually to set up badge pick up at the convention. If you'd still like to help out at the workshop please register for the convention on the day or days of the workshop at www.anime-expo.org Glowsticks: Bring your own to use and instruct with. Don't worry about the students as we'll have AX merchandising selling glowsticks to the students. Stringers, please bring extra shoelace or whatever you use so that your students can practice. Housing: Everyone is housed, my hotel room is filled as well. Bryce

I shot you a PM about it. I'm totally down. I'm trying to get word back on whether on not I'll be able to work a booth there. So we'll see how that works out. Anyhow, I'm really excited. As soon as I get the go ahead, I'll start advertising the workshop on cosplay.com and other workshops. =D I'm excited. I think I'll be buying 100 sticks this year... We seriously need more sticks (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I'm slated to be at AX09 this year for the first three days. I think.

This is the type of pain that would cause a huge media scandal if they could harness it as an interrogation technique. "I want to inform the shit out of myself." "It is a cowardly pirate who refuses to fight on a bloody deck." Likes: Brownies. Dislikes: Bullshit.

Hey, what do you mean by "help out with instructions?" And if we do, do we get to go in there for free?

QUOTE (JoontheBaboon @ May 28 2009, 01:10 AM) Hey, what do you mean by "help out with instruction S ?" And if we do, do we get to go in there for free? Editted to make it a bit clearer, as in help by being an instructor not just giving tips. I'm not sure if Bryce will be able to get any free passes for instructors this year like he has in years past so you should register rather than rely on this. And if you really do plan to help out and be an instructor know that it will be for the entire length of the panel as well as setup and strike before and after.

Its a workshop that teaches people how to glowstick, so thats what you'd be doing. also keep in mind that you should be going to teach, not to mooch a free pass. If you guys want in on free passes, send me a PM with relevant information.
Name, age, approx skill level in freehanding or stringing or both (better if you have videos of yourself that you can link), why you want to be an instructor for the workshop, what does GS.C mean to you, what is your understanding of glowsticking culture and rave culture.
I'll also be asking specific questions individually as more responses come in.
