List some methods you've used to increase the technical side of freehand. Please be detailed as a lot of it will be used for a new article I plan to write along with the very important, "What is glowsticking, freehanding, and glowstringing, anyway article."

Tossing:

The underhanded helicopter toss launch (both hands)

- 1 glowstick needed.

- Stand in front of a matress or bed so you don't have to stoop down to pick up the glowstick. Put a single glowstick in your right hand and have both your hands placed in front of you underhanded. So it'll look like you are carrying a tray or something.

- Using whatever method you have, launch the glowstick so it goes in a pretty smooth arc, probably with the height being around the top of your head, to your other hand. You should not have to move the other hand to catch it. AT ALL. This teaches control when you toss. Keep repeating at least 5-10 times on your right hand, then switch to the left hand if you wish.

- Technical: Make sure you don't move either of your hands too much. Your helicopter (at this stage) toss should be launched without too much hand movement... maybe a very small flick of the wrist to propel it upwards..

- Stylistic things to watch for: Make sure the helicopter toss is spinning quite quickly, so it almost blurs into a circle. Make sure it doesn't wobble too much.. It will probably take you a few weeks of on and off practice to get your dominant hand working this way. it will take longer for your non-dominant hand.

- After you are comfortable with controlling where the glowstick goes, mix it up by placing throws to different places. Top of your left shoulder, top of your left knee, etc. This goes for the other hand. This is the first step towards getting the control necessary to control how your taps and kicks.

Obviously, there are different ways of launching the helicopter.

List some of your drills =)

Tossing 3 sticks, But stall 2 sticks at a time, hand stall, foot stall etc. tossing more then one stick at a time making it look impossible to catch.

Almost like you need a 3rd hand to pull it off..Fake outs i like to call em!! Tossing sticks that arent to be tossed..Like tossing a stick or sticks in places that dont look like they can be tossed..

Um ill think of more l8er..Hope i help!

lets see i got sweet jogglin moves , i wish i had a camera , but ill try to explain the best i can .
- ight get a stick in each hand now what ur gona want to do is act like ur gona do a regular circlepattern with ur right hand going clockwise. Once ur right hand starts getting close to ur other hand toss the stick in ur left hand in the air like 2 inches and move ur left hand slightly out of the way. While ur left hand is outta the way swoop ur right hand clockwise under the stick ur left hand just threw up . Catch the stick back into ur left and finish the clockwise circle w/ ur right hand.

ok that was just step 1 haha but its really simple after u try it out

- ight this time get a stick in each hand and do the same clockwise move w/ ur right hand BUT this time leave ur left stick in ur hand the entire time and make ur right stick go under ur left and toss the stick in ur right hand around the left BUT toss the stick back to ur right and catch it.

Ok once u get both of these moves down connect them 2gether by doing 1 after another . Once u get that ull have some sweet joggling tricks to share w/ ur friends. OO yea and by the way once u start tossin like a pro try doing it the opposite way like counterclockwise. But if u like my " how to joggle" or thought it was to confusing let me know at dizzyblazerstciks@yahoo.com

Hey, I'd post something but I suck..

Alright, I'll post something but if anyone calls me an idiot or wants me to take the post away, I'll retract it. o.o

This is an ambidexterity excercise. It's probably for those who are trying to go from beginner to intermediary.

You can start by using one glowsick and one hand if you wish, but the point of the excercise is to be able to use two glowsticks and hands by the end.

One handed:
Step 1:Toss your left glowstick into the air about a foot or so, as it rises, raise your left hand and hit the edge of the stick up, this will cause the stick to spin quickly. Then, with the same hand, catch it as it comes down.

Step 2: Next try it with your other hand. -gasp-

Two handed: Here's where it gets difficult. Try doing step one and two together. Throwing both in the air, hitting both edges and catching both of them. This will help train your hand-eye coordination as well as your ambidexterity in terms of catching two glowsticks at the same time.

Savvy?

ahaha sounds cool ^^
i dont know im still mastering this tech. and i wonder if its posted up but ill do it anyway.

im a poor explainer XD but this is trying to get the general idea of the tech.

mm the
aim: using one hand to throw the glowstick up while the other hand revolves around it then catchtes as it begins to fall...

step 1. practice throwing! throw is parallel to your self up and down.

its important to because its easier if you do so and 2 you can also practice making it spin while tossing easier XD

step 2. after your confident with throwing it as parallel as possible, start throwing one glowstick up while your other glowstick arm revolves around the rising and falling glowstick and catching it before it falls

its recommended to pratice 1 revolve but if your confident and fast enough revolve as many times as you want!

i dont know if this is right cause im still practising it (i accidently stumbled acrossed it yesterday now im trying it everyday)

hope this helps or works out..

My next excercise is more for those who are new to tosses ect and it seems like an easy task but trust me, it isn't.

Try tossing each glowstick from back to front 15 times in a row. First your prefered hand, than your other hand and keep going till you can get 15 down. It took me an hour to get this down and once you do, the chances of failure go down significantly from then on.

If you get bored of this excercise than do helitosses from back to front 15 times in a row. x.x

Bored of that? I hate you already. Try this out. Stand with both hands behind your back, toss a glowstick up into the air, spin 180 degrees and catch the glowstick. With good practice this can make for a good turning dance move you are welcome to add to your arsenol and play around with.

Here is a simple move that i discovered for when you can feel the music intensifying and then bam a strong beat goes...IDK or whenever... But Have a glowstick in both hands and have your hands facing each other... and throw both glowsticks into the other hand at the same time and catch them at the same time... start off with your hands close and just increase the space between your hands as you progress...

I thought it was pretty tight when I discovered it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sm_sleep.gif) ... but oh well probably a newbie move...

I forgot to say... It looks best when you have different color glowsticks in your hands... because obviously no one is going to tell the difference that much if they are the same...
