Anybody ever see that umm well it was a special on Discovery(I love the discovery channel >.<) where they were showing like new health benefits from splicing genes and what not. For ex. they humanized sheep so if anyone ever needs a liver.. they get it from the sheep! Also like also how I believe there was a certain plant that grew wayyy better in a certain color of light and they take the gene in the plant that does that and they put it in I believe wheat and they have labs of this wheat that grows in a controlled environment and grows hella fast under that light.
ANWAYS well if you'v ever been to the beaches in mexico around the end of summer, jellyfishes do it and have lil jellyfishes and at night the waves GLOW and its amazing(one of the most awesomness sites of my life) so these scientists guys are like "you kno what would be killer koolness?...glow in the dark bunnies!" so they take this gene and put in a harmless bacteria and when the bunnies do it and make more bunnies they inject the bacteria harboring the gene into the lil embryo or fetus or w.e stage its at and then BAM when its born the lil bunnies are WHITE and can glow in the dark! They showed a lab FULL of them in cages and then they turned the lights off and they glowed in the dark!!!!!!!!!!
...I wonder what I'd have to do to get my hands on a glow in the dark bunny?
Like seriously? Who went "this will be a GREAT idea"? What a pointless experiment...if they gave them gills then I'd be more apt to gasp...now I just feel bad for those bunnies...they'll never get any sleep...
Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness. Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict -- alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.
The Rabbit's name was Alba..and sadly he died (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/crybaby.gif) but to be even further of a kill joy, he did not actually "glow in the dark." That is a common misconception. It fluoresces, in UV light only. So in other words when they would shine UV light on Alba he would appear to glow. Other then that essentially he did not look different from anyother white rabbit in the light or the dark.
If they were to make a bioluminescent rabbit that would glow from every cell would be cruel, because this would cause it to be essentially blind. Also this is sort of old news, since the experiment was released to the public in 2000.
lol, I don't want a bunny. I want to do it to myself! (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) haha, could you imagine that conversation starter? "Hey, that's some awesome glow in the dark body paint!"... "oh this isn't paint, it's my skin"..."why would you do that to yourself?"... because I'm that hardcore." yup. but then I'd want an on/off switch, otherwise bed time would get awkward, or my girlfriend would get pissed. XD
Yes, i know it was old news BUT it wasn't pointless they if i can remember correctly were using this glow in the dark stuff to maybe one day use it for something pertaining to organ transplants. Also there wasn't just Alba there was a friggin like whole WAREHOUSE full of like a bunch of bunnies that don't require UV. And they only glow in the dark and its not like an Ultra glow its like a mild chill glow. I know for sure they didn't need UV because there was this lady the scientist was talking to and she asks if she can see the bunnies in action and he goes sure just come right over here and they walk over to the light switch and the whole warehouse is in view and the ceiling lights were regular ones.
