There's almost universal agreement that last years halloween meetup was one of the best Texas meetups we've had to date, so I say we make this years even better. Last year we went to Mckinney Lake and then to the Thrillvania haunted thrill park. While it worked out great, the drive to the thrill park was just way to long. So this year I propose a drastically different idea. Whose up for having a meetup at Fright Fest at Six Flags? It's a very public area so it'd be difficult to find a private place where we could set up a meetup, but I've got an idea on how to get around that. Fright Fest is open all day and into the night. Right across the street from Six Flags is the Arlington Convention Center. Outside of the convention center there are large areas of beautiful grass and trees. I think we should have our meetup there during the day, then go to Fright Fest for a few hours, and afterward return to our original location where by then it will be dark enough for glow. We could probably get away with glowsticking inside Six Flags a bit as well, being that it's a halloween event and they're going to be expecting people doing non-ordinary things anyway. That decision won't be made until the situation can be evaluated.

Also remember that this is a saturday at six flags, and not just any saturday, a frightfest saturday. That means it's going to be crowded as hell. What that also means is we'll have to either content ourselves with only riding things with short lines, or riding on a few things with long lines.

Fright Fest 2008 Information

So the basic details:

Date: Saturday October 25, 2008

Location: Meet outside the Arlington Convention Center at 1pm. Between 4pm and 6pm we head to Fright Fest at Six Flags. At 9pm-10pm we leave Fright Fest and head back to the Convention Center across the street, where we will stay until around midnight.

We will meetup under this tree, so it shouldn't be hard to locate us. It looks like this tree might be the closest to the water. Do NOT park at the official convention center parking. Park in the hotel parking lot that's near the convention center.

If worse comes to worse and we're forced to leave the convention center, we'll either relocate to Arlington Lake or a spot of Rodaners choosing since he lives in the area.

Time: 1pm - Midnight

Cost: Six Flags costs to get in, though I'm not yet sure if it's the same price for Fright Fest as a normal day. Normal day general admission at the gate is $46.99. The same ticket if purchased online is only $29.99. So purchase online to SAVE! I'm also going to look into group rates, but I think we have to have at least 10 people for that.

Parking also costs, it's $15 to park at six flags.

Six Flags - $46.99 at gate, $29.99 online
Six Flags Parking - $15

What To Bring: Glowsticks, Water, Six Flags Entree Fee, Money for Food (and possibly parking fee), Blankets (to sit on), Cameras, Good Vibes and absolutely NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL.

as much as I would sooo love to do this, I will be actually working as an actor for a haunted house here in east texas. Ive been haunt acting for 6+ years, so i have a very big heart for halloween. Not only am I acting in the haunt, but i am also a theme/set/prop designer for the place, so I cant scurry too far.

there may be a chance that I do, but not sure since its so close to halloween.

Wow that's really cool man. I've always wanted to do that. Haunted houses have an appeal to me like a rave or club, due to the awesome lighting setups and darkened ambient rooms. Plus they have the added element of surprise and interaction around every corner...I love that.

Brilliant idea Ryan. That sounds incredible. It will be an epic meetup, with plenty of scenery and fun stuff to mess with.

Now find a way to keep me from going to Asia for an extra month? XD

Then go check out the tutorials section and the videos section. Watch them till your eyes bleed, then practice until your hands bleed, then get a saniwipe and clean up all that blood before your parents think you became emo.
