Hi! As others have posted there are tons of videos outlining the basics of stringing and such, the videos on this guy's youtube account http://www.youtube.com/user/NathanielEverist take you through a pretty good progression of moves. Keep in mind they're mostly poi moves, but those are just as important as wraps and string manipulations. Anyway, welcome to gsc!

P.S. How was Bisco's set at starscape?

You can find the basics of glowstringing here: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/Glowstr...nter-t9643.html

Idealistically, you should learn most of those techniques listed, for a wider range of choices when you're advancing in stringing. However, I argue that the only necessary ones are: 3-beat weave, reverse 3-beat weave, butterfly, and some wraps. Definitely learn those.

Jeff wrote a guide on purchasing glowsticks from extremeglow a while back:
http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/short-g...;hl=extremeglow

In short:
Cyalume Ultra 5-minute Orange (6HO5) are the brightest glowsticks out there, it seems.
GL Ultras 5-minute Green (6GLG5) second.
GL Ultras 5-minute Aqua (6GLA5) third.

  First off (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/welcometogsc.gif)

I'd start with the weave, butterfly, and windmill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNyKDN3m4Cc
From there you can learn wraps, spirals, buzzsaws, shotguns, etc

The brightest sticks are ultras (they last 5 minutes). High intensities usually last 30 minutes, and are still super bright, but not as bright as ultras. There are also 8 hour and 12 hour sticks which aren't as bright, but still work fine. (You can get those at party stores or wal-mart)

For ultras and high intensities, I order from extremeglow.com or glowproducts.com, but there are a lot of places you can order from online

Hope that helps!

Hello GSC, My name is Qui or by the nickname Quizzy. My reason here in this great, wide, open community is to learn about Glowstringing. I've recently went to Starscape, a rave festival down in Baltimore, Maryland and saw a ton of ravers and glowstringers. This was also my first rave festival and bright lights attached to a peice of string had caught attention. I had try glowstringing in the past but it didn't work out, so the reason why I'm here today is to ask for help and to get my stringing into action. I have some questions that I would like to be answer and I hope it doesn't bother anyone if its already posted.

What are the basics of glowstringing?
Which manuever should I start out from and to move up onto?
Where can I get the brightest glowsticks?

Thanks in advance guys. =]
