what do you mean when you said 'switching to 3 sticks'
but yea... what have you been doing with the glowsticks for a year? you prolly have some sick tosses or some nice liquiding.
anyways... when i trace, i like to hold onto the stubb at the end of the stick. try to hold them as loosely as possible, but tight enough that they wont fall from your hands. just move the sticks along your body. there isnt a wrong way to trace.
i suggest posting up a small video of you tracing and we'll see what you need to work on.

While there may be tons of tutorials for you to "learn" tracing from, I strongly believe tracing styles show more of yourself then your juggling/tossing styles. Pick up the basic F8 and maybe just start off circling different body parts, sometiems with both hands other times with one... that should spur some creative movements for you.
REmember, while we may have a good video database and many stickers around here will be first to just say watch instead of invent; you will be a better sticker in the long run if you stick to originality and dont get glued to your screen

try to find out patterns and techniques to how people trace.
go slowly at first. hold the glowsticks loosely but firmly and make sure you touch your body completely. make sure the ends, "drag" in a soft way.
there's some good articles in the articles section as well.
