Hey all,

I'm just another new kid on the block. I started out stringing when I lived in the desert, but soon after moved so I just freehand/glove now. I've been at it for like 3 weeks. So far I love it, and my wife enjoys my noobtastic lightshows for her. I've learned a figure 8 and triangle so far (Thank you for the triangle Merlin). I forget what tutorial I got the Fig 8 from, but I don't think it was a GSC member. So far I've been concentrating on just having fun and making my movements something I like, instead of building a wide base of moves and tricks and not knowing what to do with them, so I look pretty awkward when dancing/sticking. From my lurking here, building up a wide base of moves quickly then figuring out how to make it all flow seems to be a common problem with new glowstickees (?) and I didn't want that to be one of mine. I'm pretty toss oriented since I find those to be not only cool looking, but challenging to pull off. I see glowsticking as a form of expression, like painting or writing, some people just choose pretty lights and I'm one of 'em.

From the posts I've seen this site has a very helping attitude, and I think that is just something a beginner like me needs. On top of that there has already been a lot of questions asked that have been anwsered, so that is a great help as well. Don't worry, I know how to use a search bar.

Thanks for takin' the time to read this guys, I hope to become a part of this community, and help out the next new guys that come in.

Sorry for the long winded intro, I just wanted to let anyone that takes interest know a bit about what I'm about and what I'm doing here.

TL:DR - Hi, I'm new. I freehand/glove (hap hazardly).

Freehanders are good. Seem to be few and far between. At my last house party I went to I was playing with freehanding a bit. Might start picking some up some day when Im just not feeling strings.

Good luck to ya and welcome to the site (IMG:http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First, create an account, and then start asking questions =)

For freehand, I recommend you learn how to trace.. this will give you things to do in between your tosses

“That’s never been what motivated me,” he said. “What motivated me was just to be the best I could be, so that’s why I keep pushing and pushing and pushing. It’s not to be better than, it’s just to be the best I can be.”
