Hey everybody, I'm gonna put this out there because I'm feelin a bit lost. I've been reading all over the site, theres a lot of great information on here and it helps. I'm feelin a bit lost though because I've never glowsticked before. I've never gone to a rave either. I'm the newest of the new lol. i want to. I want to have a good time. I need some help! I don't even know where to begin. I'm interested in both styles, at least trying until I figure out which one I am more comfortable with. Can somebody hook up with me so I'm not so lost? Help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks everybody! and thanks everybody who responded to my hello post also! Brightest Blessings!! Hi ladyglass! Welcome to glowsticking.com! We have an awesome tutorials section that you could check out. I suggest watching them quite a few times, and then trying the moves yourself. If you try it over and over and over, eventually your body gets the move into it's muscle memory and it will literally just "click". So you live in Tampa huh? I know a couple of the members out there. I used to live in Daytona. I recommend browsing around in the Southern USA forums. Look through the Important Topics threads, fill out the contact info ones and such. I belive that CybrPunk is your regional rep there. I recommend going to the meetups. It's a great way to meet other members, and learn from them. You can PM me if you have any questions or anything. Again, welcome and enjoy your stay! ~RaverBebe

FREEHAND!!! Start free-handing! Don't become another stringer! It's way sweeter. Actually, i just can't string at all, so i'm kinda biased. But still, we need more freehanders around here. I can help you learn freehand, but stringing... forget it. Oh and welcome to Gs.C! (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

~_Doin' What I Want Since 1985_~ QUOTE (Cleric @ Nov 6 2008, 11:44 AM) Read a fucking book. Open your mind to the idea that you MIGHT be wrong about your beliefs. Open your mind to the fact that others may have it right when you don't. This applies to all aspects of your life. Dont take what you were spoon fed as a child as automatic truth. Seek out the truth on your own and make your own decisions. But dont then take those decisions and shove them down others throats. Especially when it leads to others not being able to live a life that could be as fulfilling as yours is allowed to be.

yo what up ladyglass!!! well if you like to dance with your body say liquid dance or pop lock or anything like that you should start with free hand because it involves more body dancing than the glowstick idk how to explain glowstringing even though i prefer it more than freehand(i can dance) but it doesnt matter which one you choose jus as long as you enjoy doin the art and yourself both are a great way to express yourself eighter goin crazy and fast or chillin and takin your time jus have fun (IMG: http://www.glowsticking.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) NINJA

if u can dance (popping breaking locking, ect) then freehand. if u enjoy spinning crap just to spin it and love to figure out new ways to spin stuff.. string >_> if neither. choose letter D for none of the above
i personally recomend learning stringing basics first then learn freehand basics. so u can do both.. which looks nice =D

well if you like faster hand movements and more of a work out i would suggest stringing. but if you want a real challenge and something that will always provide something new to do i would say stringing. i do both which isnt that hard, you just have to get free hand tranditins down. as for starting out i would suggest watching a beginners video on youtube. the moves i started out learning are your basic wraps, 2 beat weave and butterfly. you can find tutorials on this site or on youtube. nice to have you in the gsc!
