I'm thinking about getting the Isis poi Nevisoul uses (i've been needing a new fire poi set for a while, and now the weather is getting nice), but damn. They're 400 grams a piece! 160 grams just for the head! My flowlights are only 125 grams each. Also thinking about getting Moonblaze heads. Any thoughts?

The isis definitely look cooler, but the moonblaze definitely look bigger.. And the moonblaze end up being a tad cheaper. Hmmm.

I don't post much here, but I have some good news regarding all our good friend Lira! She and I worked on a song a whiles back, probably around Fall 2009. It went through the grinders and gears of the musical process, and I'm very happy to say, not only has it been signed by Armin Van Buuren's own label, Armada Music, but he's chosen it as one of the songs on infamous A State Of Trance 2010 compilation!!

He has added the dub version of our song "Love" to the comp, and it's very exciting that we'll be seeing Lira Yin's name all over CDs and music stores worldwide wherever this is sold. I am less excited for myself and more excited for her, as not everyone gets this opportunity everyday... So let's give her a pat on the back, as well as a big hug next time you see her around at an event, she works hard, and like me, balances school and music, so it's always good to see someone who's passionate about music get rewarded, as is the case here

And if you're wondering why only the dub version is being put on the compilation, fear no more, the vocal version (as well as some possible other remixes) will be out on Armada Music after the release of the compilation!

Butterfly weave tut?

Okay so I have all the prerequisite moves down for the butterfly weave. I can't find a tut on the net that explains how to throw all the moves together clearly. Either one tut is grainy and crappy, or one tut has bad angles on it or one tut the person just does it and doesn't explain what is going on.

So is can someone help explain what is going on in the butterfly weave and or towards a good tut?

Yup, so here it is. Duct tape roses/flowers, hand made, customized to your order! Here's the information:

Styles:
There are currently two styles of flowers: Spiky, Realistic. Within each of these styles, there are several different designs.

Spiky:
-Two, Three, Four point spirals
-Octogonal, Hexagonal

Realistic:
-Bloomed, Unbloomed*

*Unbloomed flowers must be bought in quantities of 3 or more. Multiple purchase discount is already applied to the price.

Colors Available:
-Light Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Teal, White, Black

Stem Information:

Length:
Typically, the default length of a duct tape flower is about a foot long. You can add an additional length for a small extra cost.

Material:
The stem is made of baling wire - bendable, but strong enough so that it will not bend from the weight of the flower. It can be used in case you want to wrap it around something or hang it from somewhere. It can also be cut by almost any pair of wire cutters, in case you want to trim it for personal reasons.

Pricing:
All payments are made with paypal, unless picked up - then a cash option is available.

Flowers:
-Any spiky flower is $6
-One realistic unbloomed is $3
-One realistic bloomed is $8
-Each additional color after 2 is an additional $0.50
-Each additional foot of wire is an additional $0.25

Multiple Purchases:
If you order more than one flower, every flower will cost $1 less. For example, if you order one spiky and one realistic bloomed, instead of the cost being $6 + $8, it will cost $5 + $7. This does not count towards Realistic Unbloomed flowers, as they are already at their discounted price (see above).

Shipping:
-Shipping to anywhere in the US is $4 for the first two flowers, then $.50 for each additional flower after that. The post office actually charges me around $5, plus an additional $1.50 for the box, so all that extra is being taken from the price of the flower itself. D:
-Tracking info is included.
-Flowers are wrapped in bubble wrap and then shipped in a box to ensure its safety. No envelopes.
-For non-US orders, PM me and we can discuss it.
-If you live in NYC/visit NYC often, you're welcome to pick it up, thus no shipping charge.

Other:
-After I finish the flower, if requested, I can take a picture and upload it for approval (or disapproval). Webcam is also possible.
-These roses take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to make, depending on the style, colors, etc.

Why buy these when you can buy real flowers for much cheaper?
-These flowers will stay with you for as long as you live. Arguably, these flowers will outlast even you.
-Durability - Besides not dying, these flowers can undergo quite a bit of abuse, as far as flowers go. Unless you intentionally try to disassemble it or attempt to run it over with your car, petals should never come off.
-They have many uses - cut off the stem and superglue a pin to it, attach it to a headband, create letters with the roses, etc.
-By default, they will smell like duct tape (surprise!), but you can remedy that easily by giving it a puff or two of your favorite perfume/spray/whatever.
-No maintenance required.

Pokemon Soul Silver

Just got this, it's incredibly epic. The last pokemon game I played was the original silver version, and they revamped it so much. Graphics, music, gameplay, everything is insane. You can record battles now, and even catch most of the new/old legendary pokemon.

Yeah, I like to freehand and I just recorded a practice video but I don't know how to edit it I couldn't figure stuff out. I plan on uploading more videos in the future just for the love of it, if someone is nice enough to help me out with editing it for me I would appreciate it. I would just like the official gsc intro also my name, thanks in advance I honestly don't care what song you throw on there for me I prefer Robbie Rivera - float away gabriel& dresden remix. Hey everyone my name is Corey im from CT but i go to school at Hofstra on Long Island so im always in and around New York. I just got into Glowsticking about a month ago and I have been practicing alot and while looking for tutorials i found this site. SO far what I've read has been really helpful and im hoping to meet some people and get alot better at glowsticking .

Switching from poi back to glowstringing

Any other poists out there feel it difficult to switch back to glowstringing after a while? I took a break from stringing and focused on poi for a few months and when I picked up a pair of strings again I couldn't do anything really anymore save for butterflies and weaves.

Does anyone have a similar story or an explanation?

foster kids and the budget cut.

so basically heres the story.
i have been in foster care since i was about a freshman in high school. the court had put a restraining order between me and my dad and eventually they put me in permanent placement. which meant that i was going to be in foster care till i turned 18...moving from foster home to foster home unexpectedly, it was hard for me to keep up with my credits and classes so i fell really far behind. i was unmotivated. partying all the time, doing drugs, it wasnt good. i really dont know how or why but i started getting on top of my stuff. i was living in san bernardino and i was 17. my social worker kept telling me about this program they offer for foster youth to learn how to live on their own. since i was already 17 going on 18 ireally needed to do something, so i tried it. my social worker filled out the paperwork and i went to my interview and i passed. within a month i had moved to rancho. they gave me my own apartment (with a roomate of course), and they paid for my food and helped me learn the things that i had to do to be successful. i opened a bank account, and i got a job! i never saw myself working. it was going great. my grades were good and i found out that icould graduate with my class on time. i even went back to regular high school. i made friends and we started getting ready for graduation. getting our cap and gowns, my friends got their class rings and tasels. 2010. i was ready. after graduation i was planning on getting into the transitional housing plus program that was offered for after foster youth graduated high school at 18. alot of foster youth plan on living in the program after their case closes once 18. i planned everything around being in that program. so i didnt really save money for housing because in that program they pay the rent. see, idont have family that would take me in if i was homeless. because i moved around alot i didnt have any real friends. just friends that ive known for like a couple months. the transitional housing plus program was my only hope. and now because of the recent budget cuts out here in california they discontinued that program till further notice. my friends that are in my program now are being told by their social workers that the only options for them is military or somehow manage to rent an apartment. kids in foster care that just turned 18 are now being thrown on the streets. because everything that was givin to help foster kids once an adult is now cancelled. my social worker is telling me that my options are to either not graduate; because if i dont graduate on time my case wont close and i could remain living in my apartment till either im 19 or once i graduate, so icould save up money and be able to support myself.my other option is to graduate and somehow find somewhere to live. im really scared because this happend so suddenly.

i just cant believe they would do this. especially to kids that dont have families and have already had a hard life to begin with. keep me motivated gsc. im going to make it somehow.

Hello everyone. I decided to join the GSC today . After quitting glow stringing for a few months I picked them up the other day and learned a few new tricks. It was rewarding and a lot of fun, so I decided to continue learning. I'm currently living in Fullerton, California.
