First off, I'm coming from a year's worth of Color Guard back ground into the world of staffing. So, basics and tosses come naturally to me. I'm more of a single LED staffer at the moment.

What I can't seem to get is this, guess you could call it tracing, around the neck and over shoulder business. How does that start off?

Eternally grateful for any help. biggrin2.gif

Are you perhaps talking about contact staff? If so go to Home of Poi and click on the "Learn" tab located near the top of the screen and then the "Staff lessons" link and go from there. Hope that helps!! =)

Oh yes, that's it. Still learning my terms here and there. XD
More practice in between papers are sure to ensue.
Thank you very much for the help. :3

The best way to improve on your contact ability with a staff is to attend a workshop or watch some dvds and tutorials.
if a local workshop isnt available, and a national workshop(Firedrums,Wildfire) isn't an option, then a dvd is your best bet. Meghan Claire Pike a.k.a. MCP has an amazing staff video that will not only improve your contact but also your basic knowledge of staffwork and provides some inspirational footage. check it out at http://mcp.tepookatoys.com/
tutorials can be found with a simple google or youtube search, howve since terminology is new in this realm, browse around MCP's site and check out some of her short online tutorials.

Happy Spinning!
