Hey everyone :)

I'm a physics student at the University of Florida, and I get paid to do physics research there. I love it a lot, and love talking about it with anyone who's interested.

The point of this thread is to

A. Act as a place for anyone to ask questions they might have about a topic in physics
B. Just generally talk about the field of physics
C. Ask for help with any homework or other type of physics problem they're working on
D. Share research/results from the field of physics.

I certainly don't know everything about physics, but I'm pretty knowledgeable and anything I don't know/can't figure out I'd be more than happy to discuss with my colleges and professors :)

To see what I do you can go to the link in my signature (a small amount out-of-date, for example those are last semester's classes, planning to update next weekend)

hahaha, I went to high school in Florida, so a lot of my former classmates go to UF. Gator pride? :P

not sure how many GSCers will flock to this one, but I'll have a nerdy moment-- couple of weeks ago, someone asked about LHC, which apparently stood for something else, but my first thought was "Large Hadron Collider?"

*ba-dum-pshhh*

black hole jokes followed, and making fun of apocalypse theorists.

Haha that's funny, I actually work for CERN and my research is on the LHC :D

Care to explain those two concepts a littles as I'm not that familiar with English physics terms.

Cheers

Not exactly physics as a subject per se, but lots of physics involved. Care to talk about dynamics?
