How's everyone doing? I'm not a complete OG first of all. But I do know a lot of you OG people! It's been a while since i've seen a lot of older members post. It would be cool to see who's still around. What are you doing now? I manage an O'Reilly store now. Being in the automotive business for like 8 years now would make sense haha... Who would've thought this is where I would've ended up? After hundreds of hours spent online with the GS.C fam, i've realized how much i've grown up. Hahaha. I don't mind it. I hardly string.. Maybe once every two weeks or so. I've been slacking for the most part. Where's everyone at?!??!

I never considered myself an OG, more old school, or second wave, whatever you want to call it. Either way, "original" is not in my title.

Married for almost 3 years now.

Just graduated from BYU with an English degree.

And just got accepted into the Masters of Arts Creative Writing- Emphasis Fiction, at Southern New Hampshire University, and will hopefully be done with that program in two years.

Also, just finished writing my first manuscript and am now trying to get it published.

Congrats on getting accepted! It seems like you are staying pretty busy! I was hoping more older people would chime in, but I guess it's quiet around here now. I remember how busy this place used to get. Endless nights of gs.c fun. Weather it be soulseek, the gs.c chat, gunbound, hell even maple story! hahaha. The good times. Hopefully everyone is still doing good!

Does anyone keep in touch with any other GS.Cers??

most of the community has migrated to FB =/
There's still a fair amount of us staying active on here,

I know most of the EC and WC stay in touch, but it's a much more in-person community than online
facebook's gone and fucked it up for everyone IMO
it's allowed the community to splinter itself into separate groups any/everytime someone has a difference of opinion or idea (think of the seasonal post-EDC bannings and GXG/gyralauroras/SP drama on steroids)

i would LOVE to see a return of all the old skoolers to the site, but again you can hark on them as much as you want to get them to come back, but in the end they have to Choose to come back =/

it's easier for people to just go to one site and look at one page that clumps everything of interest together for them (oh the attention spans of today)
but they're missing out on actually interacting with a fully fledged website dedicated to the art and not some random 'group' that's only concerned about ego-boosting. (hell the tech glowstringing thread in this section feels like a blast from the past in the way everyone is welcoming of everyone else's viewpoints on the art)

On the flipside, we have been left with a lot of people who have been dedicated to the art, as well as people that were formerly lurkers that were scared to participate now feeling safe enough to start conversing and actively participating.

these three threads can probably explain it better than i can though
